Russian Buyers of International Properties: Links between traveling and property purchasing
June 01, 2024

Hi Everyone,

Russian Buyers of International Properties: Links between traveling and property purchasing

Intuitively we realize that most of the time a buyer should be able to visit his own foreign property, preferably with ease. In today's situation with sanctions against Russia you can be interested whether your country is easy to enter for a potential buyer with a Russian passport.

Here's the site to help with your questions: visaguide.world/visa-free-countries/russian-passport

We can see that there are 88 countries that Russians can enter without any visas as of May 2024, 20 countries that issue e-visas online, 30 countries that issue visas upon arrival at the airport, 82 countries that require a valid visa for entry, and only 6 angry countries in the world that do not allow Russian passport holders to enter at all - Czechia, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland.

You can look up your country in the lists of the countries on the above-mentioned visa-guide-site as the first step to make a decision whether you want to market your property-for-sale to the Russian buyers.

For additional comfort, if we search for direct flights from Russia to foreign countries on directflights. com, there are fewer of such flights of course nowadays, but still there are 30 different airlines at the major Moscow Sheremetyevo International Airport with direct flights to 128 destinations in 31 countries.

And there are many more international airports in Moscow, St. Petersburg and other large Russian cities. And one can fly from Russia to any destination in the world through Istanbul, Turkey, for instance, etc.

As we have already talked about reasons why Russians want to buy real estate in foreign countries in this newsletter several times, here's just a reminder: now more than half of them are interested in relocating and potentially receiving the right-of-living and/or second passport, some others are going for investments, vacation homes or personal circumstances.

We also have discussed a possibility to find realtors' services as a supplement in some travel agencies arranging tours from Russia to popular foreign destinations for Russian travelers as travel agents know that visits abroad can lead to purchasing real estate over there eventually.

In the future issues of this newsletter, we'll maintain the conversation about how to paint the portrait of your potential Russian buyers for your exact property-for-sale - actually for the purpose of successful marketing and selling to them.

To your best business success,

Sincerely,
